As I continue to gaze at my room here on the third floor of a multi story building in Alexandria, I am just wondering how different it is from my world, which has been quiet with very little interaction. The surroundings here are very noisey, laughter, chatter, children's shouting and banging of walls as a building nearby is being demolished and all this adds to the atmosphere of this place. I don't mind, but it is different. People here are very expressive as they talk and everyone wants to have their voices heard and the actions seen. Communication is not a problem, if you don't understand the language, at least you will get the gestures p very expressive. Then there is prayer call from the mosque, breaking all barriers of high rise building and satellite dishes on the roof tops. Then a few minutes ago there was thunder and lightening and heavy rain fall. All this adding to the character of this city - hope you can hear what I hear here sitting in my room. Where would this place be or it's people if there was no noise here - just a thought.
